Michael Brennan a devoted husband, father, brother and proud tradesman passed away on January 17, 2026.
Michael was born on September 27, 1959, in Chicago, Ill. the son of Martin and Nora Brennan. In 1969 the family settled in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, where Michael began his education at St. Philips grammar school. After graduating from John O'Connell High School, he entered the construction and carpentry trade. A proud member of Carpenters Local 22 union, Michael dedicated himself to his craft with integrity and skill. He recently retired from the City and County of San Francisco as a carpenter.
Family and friends were important to Michael. He cherished the time spent with loved ones especially the time he spent with his son Peter. Pets were also important to Michael and he considered them to be part of the family. If you saw Michael out, you would also see his loyal sidekick Finn with him.
Michael is survived by his wife Marianne Cassidy Brennan, his son Peter Brennan and his sisters Maureen and Nora Brennan. Brothers in laws Steve (Judith) and Frank (Kelly) Cassidy and uncle to six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Nora Brennan, as well as his brother Peter Brennan.
Donations may be made in Michael's memory to St. Jude's or the ASPCA.
