I first knew Mike's dad, Mike Sr. Mike Sr. provided the limo at my wedding 50 years ago / even let me use the Tahoe home when the kids weren't there! I later met Mike Jr. and we became friends and then, so many stories.... one of them was Mike Finney, Mike Jr. and I getting lost near Puerto Vallarta trying to find a friend's summer place. We got lost in the back country and came across a small remote village where the local residents didn't particularly like 3 foreigners invading their space (I literally thought we were "done for"). I have a Spanish surname, but didn't speak a word of Spanish. But the Irishman, Mike Jr. spoke enough Spanish to convey our plight. The scowls turned to smiles and, even though they didn't have much, offered us refreshments and made us feel like family. That is what Mike offered to the world....a personality and genuineness that created friendships and brought people together. We need more Mike's, not less. I will miss you my dear friend. Your next adventure awaits. My deepest sympathies to the family.

I had every intention on attending services but this flu will keep me away but not from sending condolences to the Driscoll Family. Mike and I spent many fantastic times together. We enjoyed our first business venture together. A successful boat dance. We bought our first commercial building together. York Street. Even after smashing my Healey into the Driscoll residence one evening ( fountain got in my way) me and the family remained close friends. We spoke just last year in an attempt to get to a Giants game. Mike has a special place in Heaven where we will again meet. My deepest sympathies to the Family.

I have an old beaten-up tattered and torn ( kinda like myself) beach towel from the University of Notre Dame. Mike and I had the opportunity to spend 2 weeks there after we were paroled,(graduated) from Saint Cecilia's.
We were given access to two Honda 90's, which was a Big Thrill to a couple of 13 year olds. Nothing was safe, clergy, nuns and small squirrels all became targets in our new means of transportation.
Mike we had fun in our youth and you will always have a spot perched in my gray matter which will always reward me with a smile.
My heart goes out to your family.

Sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I always remember Mike as a super-friendly guy. The memory that stands-out in my mind the most is when he came up to me and offered to me the heartiest of congratulations on the adoption of my new baby-boy. I really felt that struck of chord in him, and he wasn't afraid to let me know. It was 15 years ago - but it seems like yesterday. I know Mike had a big Family, and extended Family, etc. - and I offer my most sincere condolences to all.

To Mike's family: I am so sorry for this sudden loss. I cannot be there for the funeral but I wanted to share my memories of Mike from years ago when I was a high school girl hanging out at the Driscoll house with Theresa. With all of the girls that used to be around, he often played the joker. He would tease, and clown around and eat sandwiches with that mischievous smile and laughter of his. His crazy song imitations the incredible Elvis. It was always fun to be around him. But it was clear that he also had a strong sense of responsibility, watching out to take care for his dad and the family. He knew how to have a good time, but he also cared about the people around him. Although I have not seen him in many years (decades), I can still imagine that warm and generous smile of his and I am sure that he carried that through to warm the hearts of his kids, grandkids, and extended family all of these years. I am sure he will be missed terribly. But I am also sure that he will be remembered. My deepest condolences go out to all of you.
