Remembering Mike. There was a handwritten pink telephone message slip in my box allegedly from the pastor, in the days when we had Office switchboard operators, that I did not leave enough in the Sunday collection plate. I just knew it came from Mike. Remembering a wonderful man today who made the world a brighter place.

I worked with Mike for many years. He was an extraordinary guy--a glint and smile in his eyes when happy and a glare when dealing with criminals. In all my years in the SFPD, I never heard a bad word about Mike. I so sorry for all of us that he's left.

Remembering the hard working, smiling inspector today. We sure could be using his skills and assistance on earth. May he be enjoying heaven.

When his name came across my desk this morning reminding me of his anniversary, it made me smile. He was a joy to be around and to work with. Insp. Wilcox is certainly missed. God Bless Mike Wilcox.

I first met Mike in the summer of 1967 while working at Park Station. Mike was walking the beat on Haight Street during The Summer of Love. Many years later we worked together in the Bureau. Mike was a consummate professional who took care of business. I dont ever remember him without a smile on his face when we crossed paths, the fact that my mom was born on the Old Sod certainly didnt hurt. The last time I saw Mike was in Sonoma and he was so happy in retirement. Your missed Mike and not forgotten. R.I.P. my friend.

A fine Irish, Catholic, lad was he. I was proud to know him, on duty, and off duty, in his home, in Sonoma. Shared some SFPD laughs in his last days.

I probably met Mike about 1971. He was hilarious, had a great sense of humor, and always a gentleman. His stories were absolutely the best. He will forever be missed.

Inspector Wilcox should be remembered as one of the great SFPD inspectors. He was always very helpful and hardworking. I always looked forward to going to his detail. He was so cheerful, told good jokes, had a nice smile. I will always miss him. My sympathy to Rich Leon and the family as you've lost a gem. I miss not having him around.
