Percy Tannenbaum Obituary

Percy Tannenbaum Formerly of Montreal, passed away on October 2, 2009 at the age of 82 in Berkeley, California. He was internationally renowned for his work in the area of social psychology. He received his B.Sc. from McGill University, and pursued graduate studies at Universite de Montreal and University of Illinois, where he received his Ph.D. He was Director for the Center of Mass Communications Research at University of Wisconsin; Professor at the Annenberg School of Communications at University of Pennsylvania; Professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy and Director of the Survey Research Center at the University of California-Berkeley. In addition, he was a Fellow at the Salzburg Seminar in American Studies, Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, and Wissenschaftskolleg in Berlin. He was the beloved husband of Bracha (Kaplan) Tannenbaum; devoted father to Brian Tannenbaum (Rona Shaffran) and Nili Tannenbaum (Roger Albin), and loving grandfather to Owen and Malcolm Albin. He was the son of the late Chaim and Ronia Tannenbaum, and brother of Dr. Issac Tannenbaum (Ada) and Walter Tannenbaum (Hody), both of whom predeceased him.
