I just learned of Mr. Harmons passing. I had the privilege of working at his Auberge property In San Martin. I often had the opportunity to interact and learn from Bob. Never has there been a more gracious and professional man. He always had time for his employees and to lead by his example. Iam truly saddened at his passing and would like to express my most sincere condolences to his family. I am confident that heaven found him a fast car and a finely set table. RIP Bob.

Dear Meg,
Bob certainly had a big impact on Dick and I. Dick worked for his real estate firm, sold at all of his properties and was in charge of leasing the Boatworks. There would have never been a Hacienda del Lago without the generous deal Moana cut with us for the restaurant. Bob gave me the Tahoe Marina Lodge business, only asking for rent. He sold all the other offices at the Lake to the property managers. He and his staff wined and dined us at very fine restaurants in SF and Tahoe and put us up at two of his properties in Hawaii. He was a classy, intelligent, and generous man and he was so happy to have you in his life.
I remember the Thanksgiving we were to join you and Bob at Butch and Shirley's for dinner and I had to work at the Tahoe Marina late. As I remember the story, Bob found out that no one in the group knew how to make gravy. He called me at work and asked if I did? I remember saying no respectable girl, with Southern roots, would be allowed to grow up not knowing that. He told me to close the office and get over to Timberland ASAP.
It was an honor to have known Bob. He was honorable and compassionate.

Dear Meg,
Susan Davidson forwarded Bob's obituary to us today and Butch and I are sorry to hear of his passing. I'll always remember his friendly demeanor and his charming smile. I think the photo that goes along with the obituary shows him well and accurately.

I think of you at Tahoe from time to time, with your high heels and glass of ice coffee. You have a good laugh, too that goes along with your personality. I'm sure you and Bob had many laughs and fun times together.

Ugh....how can this be. Bob Harmon and his wonderful family were SUCH a large part of my growing up years at The Tavern. It's so sad to watch these larger than life people in my life, slowly but surely slip from us all here on earth. I vividly remember Bob driving around in Tahoe City in his silver "Tub" Porsche...from where I was standing at that point in my young life, Bob was a man that was truly enjoying life to the fullest.

BRAVO BOB HARMON!....a life very well lived.

While our paths never crossed, two year older Bob had an amazing life. While Bob went to Stanford and I went to Cal, we both were CA attorneys, lived in Marin and loved Porsches, although I only bought one in 1960 new, a 356 B Super Cabriolet and kept it forever. Bob's real estate development was incredible with such great properties in Tahoe and restaurants.
My heart goes out to Meg, Ginger and his family for the loss.

I worked for Bob in the 1980s at Moana Corporation. He had it all: charisma, a beautiful family on whom he doted, great taste, and a twinkle in his eye that told you he "got it". A shrewd and visionary businessman with compassion for and generosity towards others (a rare combination then and now). The kind of person you don't forget.

Bob Harmon changed our life forever. In 1971 he gave me the opportunity to live and work at Lake Tahoe. Joan and I will never forget moving to Tahoe Tavern in 1971 and starting a new and exciting life working for Moana Corporation. He was supportive and a great person to work for.
