Dear Jackie, Tom, Maureen, Tim, and Kerry,
What a beautiful tribute in the paper. I was so thrilled to meet my newfound cousins when I started to fly from New York to San Fransico. Because of Lena's initiative my family was able to make contact and become friends with the Western Branch of the McInerney Family.
Tom was always larger than life to me, funny, compassionate, firecely proud of his Irish heritage, a great storyteller and most importantly, a man who really deeply cared about other people, most especially his beloved family that he and Jackie raised.
I feel so blessed to have known him .the patriarch of your beautiful family and on behalf of the Mid western Branch of the McInerney Clan, I want to send our deep condelonces. You will be in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
much love, Cathi Carlin Hogan

Dear Tim and Family,
Annie forwarded your message to us - what a LOSS! I got to know your Dad on the Moraga Trail. We would often walk there at the same time. I knew your Dad to be a kindly Irishman, a loving husband and father and just a good person. In my book he was "saintly" and a role model for me. Carol and I will miss him. God bless him and your good family. Love, Carol and Mike Caren

Dear McInerney Family - condolences from San Diego. Mr. McInerney was so sweet and I always secretly wished that he was my dad. I especially appreciated when he rushed all the way to SF to help me when my apartment was burglarized and even got the police to come over and lift fingerprint samples from all the windows. I know he will be so missed. Love, Michelle Laird

Dear Dad,
You're finally headlined in your favorite column - the Irish Sports Page! Tommy did a good job writing this - I'm sure you approve. You're the best looking guy in this column today. Not sure what we'll all do without you, Dad - but we plan to celebrate your life over these next two days - and we will cherish our memories of you forever. I miss you! Love, Maureen

Dear McInerney Family--We are so saddened by the loss of Tom. Although we were his neighbor for the past eight years, we really got to know him poolside at the Campo Cabana Club. Everyone knew Mr. McInerney, and we all gathered around him when he would show up for his daily swim. He would tell stories, ask us about our kids and our lives, and talk about his family. He always brought his own bottle of water, which he would always request be put in the refrigerator for chilling, and would never turn down an offer of a snack, some ice cream, or a popsicle. He loved the Cabana Club and we loved seeing how happy he was when he was there. He was a dear man and very beloved by the Campo and Cabana Club community -- and by us, his neighbors..Joy, Jacob and Kate. Jackie and Tim - we are here for you, always xox

Mrs. McInerney: I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I too am a former student from FSKey, in fact we joked about us having the same name. I was Jackie Rolland then and you were my favorite teacher, "Miss Eshia". You got married when I was in 4th grade I believe. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

My Uncle Tommy and my God Father, you truly had the ability to make a person feel very special. You gave me my first pair of Boxing Gloves and thought me how to keep my dukes up, my elbows in and always protect my chin. Profound gift's that have helped me throughout my life and a day I will cherish always.

McInerney Family,
While I don't think I ever met Tom McInerney, I still wish to express my sadness at his passing. His wife, Jacqueline, was my teacher in San Francisco. We former students remember her with such fondness and are saddened by her loss.

Uncle Tommy was a wonderful uncle and a very loving husband, father and brother. He adored my father and after my dad's death he called my mother every day for one year to check on her. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Say hello to my dad, Tommy. Cheryl
