Oct 5 1951 - Feb 24 2013
Thomas Joseph Merrill was a 4th generation San Franciscan born to Kathleen Mooney Merrill and Elmer Merrill. Tom died peacefully in Anchorage, Alaska following a prolonged illness.
Tom was born and raised in the Sunset, a carpenter by trade, a die-hard SF Giants fan and a 49er faithful. He had a wonderful personality, a love for life, and made friends wherever he went. Tom was an active member of AA since 1997 in Anchorage and supportive to all members.
Tom is survived by his loving mother, Kathleen Merrill Keegan; his son, Dylan Farrell of Broomfield, Colorado; his two devoted sisters, Barbara Crittenden (Dick) of Eagle River, Alaska and Judy White (Dennis); loving nieces and nephew, aunt, and numerous cousins; and, long time companion Laura Hamilton. Tom will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 2559 40th Ave, San Francisco on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
The family prefers donations to the American Liver Transplant Foundation in Tom's honor or to a favorite charity of your choice.
