Passe away peacefully October 15, 2013. Born June 29th, 1920 in Fargo, North Dakota to Herbert and Ethel Bowerman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Paul and her brothers Charles and Galen. She is survived by her brothers Bruce Bowerman and Glen Baillie, her children, Paul Jr., Carol, John (Dianne), Joan (Rick) and her grandchildren, Greg, John, Andrea, Brett, Katie, Kevin and Tyler.
Ginny spent the early years on the family farm near Dawson, ND and with family and close friends in Fargo, ND. She attended high school in Steele, ND and later business college in Fargo. In 1942 she traveled to Washington DC to work for the State Dept. In 1945 she traveled West to California where she met the love of her life, Paul Chapman.
Ginny and Paul started out in San Francisco and Napa but with newborn son, Paul Jr. and daughter, Carol, the family soon moved to Beledere. Later, with the family growing with the arrival of son John and daughter, Joan the family moved to Redwood City. In 1972 they moved to close by Menlo Park and remained for most of their married life. In 2002, with Paul's passing, Ginny moved to Yuba City to be closer to her children and recently to Oregon for children as well.
Paul and Ginny enjoyed a close circle of friends, playing bridge with both their neighborhood and church (Woodside Road Community Methodist) groups, traveling, sailing and family vacations. Later in life, Ginny took up golf and played for many years with clubs at Emerald Hills and Palo Alto Municipal. She was a great cook, passionate about her garden and loved swimming.
Ginny was a kind, gentle and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. We all miss her very much.
