William DeMattei Obituary

William "Bill" DeMattei Born August 29, 1910 in S.F. to Lorenzo and Teresa DeMattei. As a young boy Willie attended Emerson Grammar School, Hamilton Junior High School, and Polytechnic High School. In August 2009 he was very proud to have been the recipient of the Special Recognition Award for being the oldest living graduate of Polytechnic High School. After HS he worked at Grocery Markets, the Flower Market and eventually working at Morello Wire and Iron Works in S.F. for over 40 years with a short 4 years to the Bethelem Steel Shipyard during WWII. After retiring he and his wife Lenora traveled for 20 years, Europe, several cruises, many visits to Hawaii, their favorite vacation destination. Preceded in death by his wife Lenora, of 68 years, sister Santina (Pep), brother John (Carmelita). Survived by his daughter Virginia Perazzo (Don), son William (Debby), his grandchildren, Lisa (John), Steve (Linda), Matt and Gina, his great grandchildren, Patrick, Dominic, Jenna, Nicholas, Christopher, Maddy and Peyton. Survived by many nephews, nieces, family relatives and friends. Bill would be honored if guests of his services wore Hawaiian attire as he and wife Lenora shared a great love for Hawaii - Alooooha. We miss You and will always love You Dad! Friends are invited to attend the Vigil Service Thursday 7PM. and the Celebration of the Funeral Mass Friday 11AM (BOTH AT) St Monica's Church, 23rd Ave and Geary Blvd. Contributions to help your favorite animal organization preferred.
