I was friends with Bill in the late 60's when he attended Michigan State. I would pick him up on Sundays to go to our church. We just enjoyed each other and hit it off immediately. Eventually Bill graduated and I moved and we lost touch. As the internet developed, I would frequently search for him but to no avail. Sadly, today I found you Bill. I wish it had been sooner. Would love to catch up - and someday we will.

Bill was a customer of ours as we supplied HPD packaging for many exciting years. Bill always treated us fairly and with respect. He held us to never ending improvement in designs, cost reductions and faster to market goals. In all that though we knew he appreciated our efforts and we celebrated the results of each successful Wal-Mart blitz! I am glad i knew you Bill and i am grateful for the work we did together. I met Bill back in 1984 and we became fast friends. We kept in touch for years and I eventually landed a job at HP in 1989 which allowed us to know each other better. We went through our mutual highs and lows and grew closer over the years. I was stunned to read about Bill's passing in the Mercury News since we would always check in about once a month.
Bill, you were a great friend and you will be sorely missed. You had a heart of gold and I will miss hearing your voice and your exploits with HRC after retirement. Rest in peace my friend and tell Cal, Glen, and all the others we knew hello.

Bill was such a compelling figure at HPD as a great packaging enginner and a good leader! He had such a presence and always a smile for everyone. Whenever I think of 9/11, I will always remember Bill. We were in Ft.Worth for work and drove back to CA with Ray Meltvedt and Dave Hartmann. He will be missed by many. My deepest condolences to his family.

I am so shocked to hear this horrible news, Bill was my friend. He sat across from me when he first started at HP. We were both rookies trying to fit in. The last time I saw Bill was at my going away party. He cried and told me he was going to miss me. I have so many stories with Bill and just last week I was telling someone about Bill.

I am just one of hundreds of people that Bill worked with through the years at HP. I am greatly saddened by his passing, as we all are. Bill was one of those rare people who left every project, meeting, situation - and every person better than when he found it. He brought a life and an energy to everything he touched, he was a remarkable and unusual person - I have never met anyone remotely like him before.

Bill and I met when he moved to Fort Lauderdale and I became his roommate. The minute we met, there was a connection right away. He was my friend and a big brother to me. We spent many good times together and a lot of deep conversations. Bill helped me when I was at a real low point in my life and I will NEVER forget that about him. When Bill would speak, he would always speak with and smile and he would always make you feel good and try to make the negative into a positive for you. He was a very kind man and I miss him everyday. God Bless you my friend!!! We will meet again....Your friend, Kevin

Sad to read today of Bill's early passing. We were casual friends in the late 70's, when Bill lived at Laguna Clara. Jim Baughmann was our connection, and Bill was a smart, fun-loving man. My condolences to his family.
