William Murphy Obituary

William Richard Murphy Died peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on May 13, 2010, at the age of 71. Bill was son to Mina Murphy and William Murphy; husband to Patty Murphy; father to Theresa Murphy and Rebecca Murphy; grandfather to Kailey Aiello and Joey Aiello; friend to Mike Aiello, Nancy Hart, Jessica Reyes, and Peter Guidice. Bill grew up in South San Francisco and graduated from South San Francisco High School. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for the Dept. of Forestry. Bill also worked for Zenith Television. Bill belonged to the ILWU and worked as a longshoreman for over 35 years. He was a good citizen, a great friend, a family man and a good provider. Bill will best be remembered for his love of the outdoors and all the Saturday morning pancakes he cooked for his family and friends. A special thank you to each of the following: to Pete Guidice for being a great friend and support to the family, to Nancy Hart for all of the home cooked meals, to Dr. Rajpal (oncologist) for all of her doctoring and support, to the oncology department at Kaiser, to the missionaries of the Mormon church for all of their support and prayers, to Trish Gillespie, IU, Kathleen Young, MSW, and Kathleen Dobson Hop./AIDE thank you for your kindness. Private services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bills memory to: Hospice Donations, 4131 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, 94118.
