Sandra Konitzer Obituary

Konitzer, Sandra A. "Sandi"

Sandra A. "Sandi" Konitzer, age 70, of Sheboygan, died peacefully Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI.

She was born September 9, 1946 in Menominee, Michigan to William and Rosellen (Douville) Mellinger. Sandi attended local schools in Gillett, WI and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1964.

In 1964, Sandi and Robert Konitzer were united in marriage in Gillet, WI., had four children and later divorced.

Sandi was an excellent homemaker for her family. She worked at various jobs over the years, including Jung Shoe Co., as a hostess for Beeline Clothing, the Kohler Co., and as bus driver for Prigge Bus Co. She then returned to school and graduated from UW-Green Bay with a degree in Sociology. Sandi then ran a group home for developmentally disabled adults and later was employed with Sheboygan County as an Economic Support Specialist and retired as a Victim Witness Coordinator.

Sandi was very involved with the Sheboygan community. She took great interest and pride in the Sheboygan Softball Association and the Sheboygan North High Wrestling Program (she started the Wrestling Booster Club with Tom Brown and Ray Robinson). She especially loved supporting and attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting and other events. She enjoyed making cakes for friends and families on their special occasions with her trademark exclamation points!!

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish and assisted with Holy Communion distribution.

Sandi is survived by her mother, Rosellen Munro of Sheboygan, her partner of thirty-six years, Cindy Johnston of Sheboygan, her children, Robert "Tory" (Michele) Konitzer of Chelmsford, MA., Kandace "Kandy" Konitzer of Valders, WI, Kimberly "K.C." (Robert) Brion of Ada, WI., and Adam (Renee) Konitzer of Port Washington, WI; ten grandchildren, Rachel Konitzer, Bridget Konitzer, Dillan Konitzer, Joshua (Melissa) Konitzer, Jeff Roth, Nathan Brion, Noel Konitzer, Jarod Konitzer, Holly Konitzer, and Joy Konitzer; three great-grandchildren, Rhyan Konitzer, Weston Konitzer, and Ellana Brion; and other relatives and friends.

Sandi was preceded in death by her father, William Mellinger; her stepfather, Harry Munro; and her brother, Gail "Butch" Mellinger.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Father Phil Reifenberg of St. Dominic Catholic Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels and on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
