Horace Bridges Sr. Obituary
GAFFNEY, SC-Reverend Horace Bennett Bridges, Sr., 73, of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016.
Rev. Bridges served our Country in the Army National Guard from 1960 to 1966 and in the US Army Reserve from 1966 to 1968. He was employed as a production operator at Timken and retired after 39 years of service. He graduated with an Associates Degree in Pastoral Studies from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute in Hendersonville, NC.
Born in Blacksburg, SC, he was the son of the late Wofford and Etta Jane Sprouse Bridges. Rev. Bridges is preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Taylor Bridges; a brother, Markey "Gene" Bridges; and a sister, Joyce "Verna" Sparks.
He is survived by a sister, Juanita Herrin; brother, Woody Bridges (Mary); a twin sister, Doris Keller; son, Benny Bridges, Jr. (Cindy) of Greer; daughter, Benita Rowland (Matt) of Shelby, NC; daughter, Lisa Smith (Cam) of Boiling Springs, SC; granddaughter, Crystal Quarles; great grandson, Joshua Thomas, Jr.; granddaughters, Nicole and Morgan Bridges; grandson, Joshua Hamrick; and granddaughters, Emily and Skyler Smith.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 9 until 10:45 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Mountain View Baptist Church, 650 Battleground Road, Cowpens, with Rev. Steven Griffith, Dr. Bo Wagner, Rev. Scott Davis and Rev. Don Sessions officiating.
Burial will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rev. Bridges' "Tell The World Radio Ministry", P.O. Box 478, Gaffney, SC 29342 or McCall's Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.

Growing up with the Bridges' family and remembering such good times. Not sad because our loss is heaven's gain. We were out of town and couldn't see each of you to express my sympathy. Be sure your heart is with the Lord and you will see Benny again. Love to the remaining family.
