Gale Allen "Rocky" Rogers

1940 - 2025

Gale "Rocky" Allen Rogers, age 84, of Branch (Ruby Creek), Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, at home. He was born on January 23, 1940, to Ernest and Virginia (Wood) Rogers in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Rocky worked as a steel treating foreman at Hansen Balk Steel Treating for over forty years. Throughout his years, he enjoyed fishing, waterskiing, snowmobiling, bird watching, gardening, woodworking, metal fabrication, and anything to do with stock car racing. In his younger years he helped build cars that won championships at Berlin Raceway.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Janis Marie (Schutter) Rogers; children, Chris Rogers, Kevin (Anna) Rogers, Kimberley (Randy) Williams, Corey (Kelli) Rogers, Kurtis Rogers; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great- greatgrandchildren; brother, Forrest (Nancy) Rogers; and sister, Joanie Wallus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Crystal Rose Rogers.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services, 226 State Road, Newaygo, Michigan 49337, with Pastor Dick Riley, officiating.

There will be a time of visitation with the family one hour prior to the funeral. A luncheon will follow at the Newaygo VFW.
