Sunshine Hazel Obituary
Sunshine was born on July 3, 1932 to Charlotte Louise Maddox and Fred Grady Mann. She was preceded in death by her sons: Gene Jeffrey Hazel, George Stephen Hazel, and son in law Charles Edward Jenkins III. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Hazel Jenkins, and sons: Mark (Fran), and Chris (Karen); and grandchildren: Amy (Grant Schrader), Shelby, Edward (Beth), Benjamin, Taulbee (Melissa), Sims (Kaitlin), Tapp (Maddie), Maddox, Sydney, Brik; and six great grandchildren: Claire, Eleanor, Finley, Ada, George and Davis.
Sunshine spent her life in service to others. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, volunteer and friend. She believed n family and community. Her career was in nursing with an interest in Public Health and Hospice Care. She was very active in the Episcopal Church and was a member of the Daughters of the King.
Sunshine was a true warrior and is greatly missed.
A Eucharist celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Grace Episcopal Church, St. Francisville, La. with committal immediately following.
Many thanks for the excellent care given to Sunshine by the staff at St. James Place, Baton Rouge, LA.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity of your choice.
