Brother Powell was an outstanding Christian. He always called to check on us from time to time without expecting anything back. It was a heart felt call each time. We will miss him very much. We are praying for the whole family at this time.

Bro. Powell,

I will miss you, but I know you are with the Lord now. And, I'm certain your "Sweet Margie", Sis. Powell, has welcomed along with Him into the "joys of the Lord".

Bro. Powell was one of those I looked at and said, "THAT is how I want to live for God." I want my life to be as consistent and dedicated to the Lord as his was. There is no way to miss heaven having lived like he did.

I pray that the grace and peace of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, rests upon the family at this time. You all have much to be proud of in this true elder of the Church of Jesus Christ!

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Grady A. Powell our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Grady. And to Grady it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Grady we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,355 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Grady’s family and loved ones.
