John Alleva

Retired IRS Special Agent, Beloved Father & Grandfather, 90 John Alleva, Age 90, of Staten Island, NY, passed away on October 26, 2022. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 24, 1932 to Michael and Julia Alleva. John served in the military during the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from St. John's University, Queens, NY. John worked four years as an accounts payable bookkeeper for the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroad, NY, NY, and one year as a public accountant for KPMG, NY, NY. He also worked twenty-five years for the U.S Treasury Department as a Special Agent for the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division, NY, NY. After retirement therefrom, he worked twelve years as an executive assistant at the Law Enforcement Assistance Foundation, NY, NY, and a criminal investigator for the NYC Department of Investigation, NY, NY. He is survived by four children: Michael II & Audrey, Julia & Freddy, John & Licet, and Joseph; Five grandchildren: Danielle, David, Joseph, Michael III, and Cara; and three great grandchildren: Michael IV, Welles, and Lily Grace. He was predeceased by his parents, daughter Nancy, grandchild Alexander, brother William, and sister Marie Joan. Friends and family are welcome to attend services that will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 4-8pm at Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, SI, NY 10306. Funeral mass will be held at St. Ann's Church at 101 Cromwell Avenue, SI, NY 10304 at 10AM on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022.
