Nancy Alleva Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home on Oct. 5, 2025.
Nancy L. Alleva, (68), of Simsbury, Connecticut, passed away on October 1, 2025. She passed away after a valiant battle with cancer in the peace of her home surrounded by her children. Nancy was born on August 4, 1957, to Robert and Louise Maule, in Torrington, Connecticut. She grew up in East Granby alongside her two siblings Jeanne Russo and Charles Maule. They had an adventurous childhood and leaned upon each other for support throughout their challenges. Striving for independence she decided to move on her own and start her career as a Respiratory Therapist. She excelled in this career with the knowledge and comfort she provided her patients and the many lives she touched along the way. Nancy was always an overly friendly and expressive person. She loved talking to anyone that would listen! She had a "bigger than life personality" and made sure to express this in her actions and words. She loved to tell stories and make others feel like they could escape reality. She lived by the quote "everyday shouldn't be a Monday" and made sure to create a wonderful childhood for her children and grandchildren. If you ever wanted a "real" opinion, she was truly the one who could provide this without hesitation, from restaurant reviews to clothing preferences and so much more. She definitely did not leave any stone unturned. She loved relaxing in her beach house, entertaining for happy hour, or frequenting the casino in hopes of the big win. She was the beloved wife of her late husband Carl, who she shared 37 years of marriage and an inseparable bond. Nancy, also known as "Grammie", was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother. No matter what was asked of her, you know she would always be there. Her strong belief in her faith and God ultimately gave her everlasting peace. Nancy is survived by her two children Deanna (Alleva) St. Pierre and her husband Kyle, Paul Alleva and his wife April; her three grandchildren Ava Alleva, Cole Barker and Carter St. Pierre; her sister Jeanne Russo; her sister in law Anna Hacket and husband Kevin; her brother in law John Alleva and wife Sonya; her nieces and nephews; and the rest of her family and friends. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Carl Alleva, her parents, Robert and Louise Maule, her parent in laws, John and Rina Alleva, her brother Charles Maule, her nephew Joel Russo, and her nephew Matthew Martin. Nancy's family will receive friends on Monday October 6, 2025 from 4-7PM at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10AM at St. Mary's Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT 06070. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, 65 Winthrop Street, Tariffville, CT 06081. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. I worked with Nancy for many years at Manchester Hospital as her administration assistant and she was always a joy to work with. She would fill in when she could to help make my life easier staffing. But most of all I remember every Christmas she would give everyone a Christmas card with a lottery ticket ( never did win). May God give her peace and especially to her family during this difficult time.i was honored and blessed to have known her.
