Patrick J. Sweeney
Dear brother, uncle, and friend, avid golfer, Army veteran
Patrick J. Sweeney died peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 25, 2020.
Patrick was born in Brooklyn on July 11, 1946, to James and Agnes Sweeney and raised in Staten Island. He attended McKee High School and was an all-star pitcher.
He was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1972. He was an avid golfer and loved to watch all types of sports.
Patrick was a lineman for ConEd for over 40 years.
He is survived by his brother, James (Cathy); his sisters, Agnes (Fred) and Nora; and long-time companion, Marie Guastavino. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
The viewing is at Casey Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at St. Teresa's Church, 637 Victory Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
