She was the much beloved wife of the late A. Cole Tremain.
Judy was born in New Bremen, Ohio on March 12, 1938, to her parents Harris and Norma (Vornholt) Sharp. She was the youngest of three and was preceded in death by brothers Don and Jay Sharp, as well as her parents.
The family lived in New Bremen for the first ten years of her life. Judy had great memories of those years, especially all of the time spent with her aunts, uncles and many beloved cousins who lived in town. The family purchased a farm in Sidney, Ohio in 1942.
She graduated from Anna High School and went on to attend Miami Valley Nursing School where she earned her RN degree. Judy eventually became manager of the family farm in Sidney after the passing of her mother in 1987 and did so until the farm was sold at auction in 2019. She was the guardian of her brother Jay and managed his care with fierce dedication until his passing in 2019.
Judy and Cole married in December of 1959. They began their life together in Columbus, Ohio where she worked as a nurse at Children's hospital. They moved to Pittsburgh when Cole took a position with J&L Steel, from where they spent the better part of 25 years living in Bethel Park and raising their family.
During that time Judy enrolled in Allegheny Community College and from there went on to Duquesne University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She spent a couple of years working for the Visiting Nurse Association in communications following completing her degree. She and Cole moved to Chagrin Falls, OH in 1984 following Cole's transfer from Pittsburgh to Cleveland with the LTV Steel Corporation. The settled in lovely century home in the village where Judy got to work cultivating her master garden and making a beautiful home.
She built a life full of community involvement and service in town. She served in leadership positions at the Sassy Cat, The Chagrin Valley Little Theater, the Cat's Den Garden Club and at St. Martin's Episcopal Church where she dedicated herself to the Choir / Music ministry and The Altar Guild ministry serving as director for more years than we could remember.
Judy cherished family both her immediate and the family she married into, each member, those with us still and those that went before her. You were all so very dear to her.
