Arlene, Dex and Andy, know that my thoughts are with you as you move on to another phase in your lives, one that retains your mother's smiles and hugs in your hearts and minds. Those are what I think of when I think of my Aunt Helen: smiles that light up a room, just like my dad's, and her warm, long hugs. My prayers are with you all! We would welcome a visit with you in Calgary, if any of you have the opportunity to come this way, just like the 'old days' of the Eagan visits to the farm. With love,

A very special aunt, a surrogate mother to me, a friend, mentor and confidant. We had many adventures together - running through hail storms, skipping down Scarboro Avenue arms linked singing "We're off to see the Wizard" (of course you were Dorothy and Aunt Mercia and I were the cowardly lion and the tin man), sipping gin and tonic, trying to make my mom "comfortable", laughing until we cried. You were a very reliable and witty e-mail correspondent! I have many fond memories that will always make me smile. Thank you for your love and support. I will miss you. To Dex, Arlene and Andy and your families, thank you for sharing your mother with me. She was a strong and amazing woman with a kind and generous heart. She was a loving sister to my mom and for that I am especially grateful. Love, Theresa.

Aunty Helen,
I could never have asked for a better aunt or godmother. I have so many great memories of your visits to Canada and mine to California. I'll miss you. My deepest condolences to my cousins on such a great loss.

Aunty Helen - I will miss you. I looked to you as a great, vibrant, interesting and caring family role model, (someone in the family that also understood accounting!). It was such a nice treat when you were able to visit in either Calgary or Taber. I'm miss our 'good gabs' that ranged from family catch-ups, politics, fashion, exercise and life in general. Even though I didn't get to see you often, you always had a way of making me feel 'connected' to you and your family.
To Dex, Arlene and Andy - I'm sorry for your loss - your Mom will be missed for sure. My hearts and prayers are with you all. - Bonnie Gunderson (Leahy)

Aunt Helen,
I will always remember how gentle and kind you were, the laughing and stories that would fill our home and hearts on your visits. There is nothing more sad, or glorious then the passing of generations. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We'll always remember our visits... I still smile thinking of the Leahy grand adventure to the Eagans back in 1968 (before Erin!) I remember Aunty Helen's kindness, and the fun we had with all the Eagans. I also remember the Eagan's visits to the farm (remember the Dexterasaurus in the dugouts!). In more recent years, I enjoyed getting to know Aunty Helen as a "real person" when she came to Canada for her frequent visits. I know we'll all miss Dad's updates from California. Our hearts and prayers are with you all. - Connie, Blaine and Mackenzie Gross

In memory of a wonderful aunt - we will miss you! (Now who is going to tell us all the tales of our dad's youth?) Your wonderful sense of humor, your eyes that sparkled when you told stories of yesterdays gone by, your genuine joy of life - you left us with great memories! Thank you for being a part of our lives.
