Stephen Hanauer Obituary
Stephen "Steve" Arthur Hanauer, 76, of Canyon Country, CA passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Valencia, CA. He was born April 1, 1941 in New Jersey.
Steve co-owned and operated Steve's Valencia Florist with Jan. In 1974 he opened the original location on Lyons Avenue in Newhall. Steve loved and supported the community he lived and worked in.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; stepdaughters: Jennifer Smith McKee, Rebecca Smith and Amy Smith and families; sister Carol (Sam) Russell; nieces: Sarah (Pete) Russell Sutsos and Lauren (Matt) Russell Caldaronello and families; cousins, in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be truly missed.
The Celebration of Life/Open House for Steve Hanauer will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Westridge Valencia Clubhouse, 26960 Sycamore Meadow Drive, Valencia, CA 91381. Open to the community.

In the early 2000's,I went into the flower shop looking for a job arranging flowers. Steve had me make an arrangement & he would have hired me but at that time I decided to stay where I was. But he was so kind. Just a very nice person. My sympathy to your family & friends. Take pride in knowing that he touched so many peoples lives in the simplest of ways. Love & Light To You All

My husband and I met Steve in 1970. He was just getting his business started and he did our flowers for our wedding in 1971 and our anniversary in 2001. He has been our go to person for our flowers. We will miss him as will those who knew him. Our deepest sympathy. The Erskine Family

I worked for Steve in High School, I loved his work ethic, kindness, and his brutal honesty with flowers. He was always there for the good and not so good occasions. I will miss him!!
