Zoey R. Cason, 18, of Sioux City passed away Monday, May 30, 2022.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Zoey was born Nov. 12, 2003, in Sioux City, the daughter of Michael Cason and Renee Geesaman and stepfather Jason Surber. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School as an honor student in 2022. Zoey enjoyed being part of the Chamber and Show Choir. She was heavily involved with the student council. Zoey had plans to attend University of Iowa in the fall. In the past few years she worked at Chick-Fil-A. She was a truly amazing person to be around.
She enjoyed spending money, especially on shoes, blankets, socks and slippers. Zoey loved to hang out with her friends and listen to music, but most of all being with her family was her greatest joy.
Zoey is survived by her mother and stepfather, Renee (Jason Surber) Geesaman of Sioux City; father, Michael Cason of Yankton, S.D.; two sisters, Sadie Geesaman and Ashley Geesaman; brother, Zakary Cason; grandparents, Ronald and Rhonda Cotton of Sioux City; grandfather, George Cason of Sioux City; grandmother, Mary Nelsen of Homer, Neb.; great-grandmother, Dorothy Bos of Sioux City; aunt Rachel (Luke) Branyan of Dallas, Texas; uncle, Ryan Cotton of Wisconsin; aunt, Jenny Cason of Sioux City; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Starla Cason, grandfather, Richard Nelsen.

Though I do not know Zoey or her family I just want to express my deepest condolences for your loss. Loss of a child at 18 years of age is a tragedy that no one should face. I just wanted to send a few words of comfort at this time. I hope and pray Almighty God sends his comfort to you today and forever more.
