Avalon Tannehill Obituary
Springfield, IL—Avalon Isabel Tannehill 84, of Springfield, died at 3:28 pm, Monday, June 18, 2018. She was born March 10, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN to Archie and Isabel Stevenson Comstock.
She was the mother of 5 children; Gayla Cheffy of Chatham; Gene (Janet) Tannehill of Springfield; Margaret Tannehill (deceased), Duane Tannehill of Springfield and Stephanie (Hunter) Clark of Jackson, MO;
Her parents; one infant daughter, Margaret Ann Tannehill and her companion of twenty Years, Harold Neece, preceded her in death.
Avalon was a member of Southern View Chapel. She was a very loving, devoted mother; was very social and never knew a stranger. She had a passion for traveling and experiencing different cultures and was quite an adventurer having zip-lined; para-sailed and hot air ballooned.
Avalon worked for 44 years for Illinois Bell Telephone.
Memorial Gathering: 4-7 pm, Monday, June 25, 2018 at Southern View Chapel.
Memorial Service: 10 am, Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Southern View Chapel with Pastor Brian Gilley, officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to John Wayne Cancer and Research Center; Southern View Chapel or Animal Protective League.

I remember Mrs. Tannehill from Immanuel Lutheran. She was always such a sweet person. My deepest sympathies and thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Let's realize one thing, she has not left our hearts. She did give me a generous gift of Avalon's adventures and travels.
