Carol Ann Ferrer

1933 - 2021

Carol Ann Ferrer (nee Kerber), age 88, died peacefully with her loved ones by her side on May 2, 2021 in Downers Grove, Illinois. Carol was born in Buffalo, NY on April 13, 1933. She was the daughter of Roman J. Kerber and Antoinette (Pauly) Kerber. She moved to Springfield, IL in 1947 and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1951.
Carol married Adalberto Ferrer-Miro of San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1957 and resided in San Juan until 1967 when she moved back to Springfield, IL with her six children upon the death of her husband. During her lifetime, besides being a loving mother and wife, Carol worked for the FBI, became a successful Real Estate Agent and investor and worked for the State of Illinois in Human Resources. Carol was active in several charitable organizations and dearly loved by the sisters at the Mission of Our Lady of Angels in Chicago, IL.
Surviving are her children, Victoria Ferrer of Downers Grove, IL, Robert Ferrer (Wendy) of Prior Lake, MN, Michele Grilli (David) of Oak Brook, IL, Teresa Ryan of La Grange, IL, Gerard Ferrer (Tiffané) of Wayzata, MN and Joseph Ferrer (Carol) of West St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Amanda (Carlos), Emily (Nicholas), Jordan, Jacob, Olivia, Jennifer (Bradford), Matthew, Abigail (Mitchell), Kristen (Michael), Casey (Hana), Megan (Nicholas), Carson, Brooke and Alexis; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Connor and Avery.
Carol was preceded in death by her three brothers, James, Donald and Kenneth Kerber.
A mass will be said to honor Carol at Christ the King Church on May 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be private.
Carol's wish was that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Mission of Our Lady of Angels in her name at https://www.missionola.com/index.html and/or a random act of kindness be done in her memory. The family greatly appreciates your graciousness.
