James F. Minder 1944 - 2017
Springfield, IL—James F. Minder, 73, of Springfield, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. John's Hospital.
James was born January 8, 1944 in Pawnee, the son of William S. and Mary E. Fitzsimmons Minder. He married Sandra Barbara Castleman on June 10, 1967.
James proudly served our country in the Army National Guard. He attended school at SCI and Western Illinois University, and was a member of Knights of Columbus in Kincaid. He was a coach for youth baseball. He enjoyed golfing, yard work, and attending family sporting events for his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph F. Minder; and sister, Barbara R. Adcock.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Minder of Springfield; sons, James R. "Rich" (Diana) Minder of Westfield, IN, Jason F. Minder of Springfield, and Jeremy A. (Nicke) Minder of Loami; daughter, Andrea Minder (Marc Becker) of Chicago; grandchildren, Lexi, Isaac, Josi, Avery, Lucy, and Charlie; siblings, Jane Barry of Taylorville, Anne Minder of Pawnee, John (Carolyn) Minder of Sarasota, FL, and William Minder of Pawnee; sister-in-law, Geraldine Minder; and Helen Unser Minder.
Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Christ the King, 1930 Barberry Drive, Springfield with Rev. Joseph Ring, celebrant.
Private family burial will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Christ the King School, 1930 Barberry Drive, Springfield, IL 62704, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.

So sad to hear this news, my thoughts and prayers are with his family. Jim was not only a great boss and mentor, but we had fun golfing too. He always stood up for what was right and had a great dry sense of humor. He will be missed.
