Justin Michael Obituary

Justin Clay Michael

Des Moines

Justin Clay Michael was born June 29, 1983 in DeKalb, Illinois to Weldon and Marie Michael. He graduated from Urbandale High School in 2001, and attended Des Moines Area Community College and completed a degree in Public Service and Administration in Agriculture from Iowa State University. He was employed by Wells Fargo as an Operations Analyst.

Justin grew up loving the outdoors. Whether he was playing sports or vacationing, he loved being outside and active. He played volleyball, soccer, and enjoyed working on his house or in his yard. His wedding was planned near the beach in North Carolina, one of the family's favorite vacation spots. Justin also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Family was important to Justin and he saw the home as an important part of the family.

Justin will be remembered for the warm hearted compassion he showed his friends and family. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his fiancée Angie Ver Huel, parents Weldon and Marie Michael, brother Nathan Michael, sister Sydney Michael, maternal grandmother Ruby Heafner, paternal grandmother Helen Michael, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Des Moines at 10 AM Monday morning. The family requests memorials are made in his name to Habitat for Humanity.

I am praying that Justin's fiancée, family, and friends draw strength from each other and God to help them through this absolute tragedy. Everyone knows how wonderful of a guy Justin was and I know many cannot wrap their minds around what happened. Justin, you will always be remembered fondly. What a sweet, sweet guy you were. R.I.P. buddy.
