TALLULA - Linda Lou Churchill, 68, of Tallula, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born on March 22, 1943 in Peoria to Dawsey "Doc" and Helene Louise (Sinclair) Swatzell. She married Bob Churchill on June 18, 1961.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Churchill of Tallula; two sons, Robert Alan (April) Churchill of Claremore, OK and Gregory Alan Churchill of Tallula; a daughter, Amy Jo (Curtis) Martin of O'Fallon, MO; three brothers, Norman Dale Swatzell of Melbourne, FL, Tom Swatzell of Houston, TX, and Tim Swatzell of Colorado Springs, CO; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Howard Janet.
Mrs. Churchill was a homemaker and a member of Westside Christian Church in Springfield. She was an artist, a piano player at her church, and had the gift of hospitality.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Tallula Christian Church at 10:00 am. Rev. Wayne Meyer, Rev. Dale Sinclair, and Dr. John Ray will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial will be in White Cemetery in Tallula.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Associating or Donor's Choice.
