It's May 15, 2018, and I am just learning of Paul's death today. I was at the DGA annual meeting and they announce all the members who passed away. I am heartbroken. I worked with Paul for 7 seasons of the sitcom Girlfriends. We talked about everything! We talked about sports and politics and religion, anything and everything! Good honest long respectful discussions. Seems unheard of now. And boy did we laugh! We'd laugh at those same topics and more. We were from two different worlds. He a straight laced White guy, and me an East coast city slicker fairly radical African American women, both in LA and on the same show. After the show was over we went in our different directions. but we would touch base every now and then. Often at the DGA annual meeting. So I was shocked and very sad to hear his name today The last time we spoke at any length he was telling me about his job with FOX and baseball play-offs. He was so happy! He loved that he did not know what city he would be in next. It sounded like he was having the time of his life. I hope he was. I will miss those happy surprise phone calls. I will miss our chats. RIP my dear friend. Heidi McGowen

Just heard through the Hillsboro grapevine about Paul's sad loss. Many great memories of Paul and his family. When I first got out to LA, Paul took me on the set of Night Court and introduced me around - helped me get started. Will miss you terribly.

I knew Paul 2 short years at St Andrews High School, in Boca Raton. It was only in the last few years that we reconnected via social media. Was deeply saddened to learn of this tragic loss. My condolences to his family and friends

I went back to look at messages I've received via LinkedIn and back on Dec 19th, he sent me a message wishing me a Merry Christmas and I wished him the same. That's the last time I heard from him.
Nine years before that, he called me because he heard that I was getting married, and he congratulated me. That's the last time I heard his voice.
I can't even begin to say how much this saddens me. A lot of people on "George Lopez" showed me a lot of love when I was the set PA but this guy was a ray of sunshine not just to me, but to everyone. The amount of respect he showed me despite my position at the time shows his character: always treat people, no matter what their position is, the way you want to be treated.
Every time I saw him at work, I would smile and say "Hey Paul. Good to see you." His response was always the same, "It's good to be seen." Yes, it was always good to see Paul. It makes me sad that I won't be seeing him anymore, but I know he's in a better place now.
My condolences to his family. Love you, Paul.

I have only had the pleasure of knowing Paul about a year and a half or so. I wish I had more time with him because he was an amazing person and he will surely be missed. We knew each other from working together at KTLA. From the day I started working there, Paul was so kind and welcoming to me. He was always pleasant and never complained about whatever was going on in his personal life. He always spoke highly of his kids and his girlfriend. I could tell he loved them very much. He would tell me about his plan to move back to Illinois one day after he retires. He planned on moving back into the house his parents left to him and his family. He was a hard worker and was very good at his job. Work was a much brighter and happy place when Paul was there. Rest In Peace Paul. You are truly loved and will truly be missed. You were a special person who touched more lives than you probably knew.

I was in California for my first trip there. I couldn't sleep one morning and turned on the tv to hear this story on the news. I am from St. Louis and am a Cardinals fan. For some reason I felt the need to tell the family and friends that a stranger is thinking of them and praying for them at this difficult time. While humankind does the best it can to separate us based on our petty differences, we all share the pain of loss. May the wonderful memories be a comfort to you. God Bless.

Well, Pablo, you always could break my heart. I'm a little angry now, thinking about how we won't get to laugh together on the porch about what weird old people we turned into, but if you're at peace now then I'll just treasure the good times. Too many to count - the kind welcome you had for me when I first got to California; Tijuana with Ike and Leslie; the Hef silk dressing gown caper; the night you came to hear our big gig down in LA; the first time you gave beautiful baby Jenifer to me and told me exactly how she liked to be held....it was all so, so great. Mostly, though, in my heart we'll be riding around the back roads at home in the green Chevrolet wagon with my brother and other ne'er-do-wells, listening to Bad Company and laughing until we just couldn't make sense any more. Some of the best times of my life. Say hello to Jane and Anthony for me - I know you're all so glad to be together again - and let me tell you once more just how incredibly much you meant to this old friend. Long may you run, Buddy. I love you. Sarah

I was a friend of Paul's from kindergarten through high school and beyond. He was always kind, honest, and yeah, pretty sexy. We shared a rug at nap time in kindergarten, rode bikes together in grade school, and partied a bit in high school and beyond. He always told a story of running into my parents on Rodeo Drive when they were there for the Rose Bowl ( miserable Illini loss) and how cool it was to see Illinois folks there. RIP Paul. You are loved and missed.

Paul was always cool and made life working with him a pleasure. He would make a stressful situations calm and collective. He was always respectful to everyone no matter who you were. When Paul would show up to the gig your day would be that much better. I've worked with Paul on some huge productions and as of most lately NFL on FOX. My Sundays will not be the same without him.I am thankful to have known Paul. We lost one of the good ones.

I was shocked to hear the news about Paul. I worked with him a few times years ago, but more recently I'd run into him many times at the gym or out and about in Burbank. He'd always come up to me, shake my hand and ask what's been happening lately, and what show was I working. He truly was a wonderful guy and will be missed by many. R.I.P. Paul, you will never be forgotten.
