Richard Jeffers Obituary
NAPERVILLE - Richard B. Jeffers, 49, of Naperville died Tuesday, March 11, 2008.
He was the beloved son of Richard Jeffers and the late Carolyn (nee Quinlan) Jeffers; loving husband of Susan (nee Wisnasky) Jeffers; dear father of Richard Blake, Kara and Katelyn Jeffers; fond brother of C.J (Brenna) Jeffers and Steve (Kelley) Jeffers; and dear son-in-law of Judy Wisnasky. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Mike and Tom Wisnasky; sister-in-law, Patty Anders; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jeffers was a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, class of 1981.
Mr. Jeffers was employed with Arthur Anderson Inc. from 1981 to 1995. Presently he was the national recruiting manager for Deloitte & Touche, USA.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., in Naperville. Funeral services will leave from the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, to a Mass of Christian burial at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Road, at noon. Interment will be in Naperville Cemetery.
In lieu of flower memorials, please send contributions to the Jeffers children's college fund. Mail to Edward Jones, Attn: Jeffers Fund, 2048 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL 60618. For those touched by cancer, information will be provided at the service with instructions on how to donate via Relay for Life.

I am saddened to hear of Rick's death. Like others, I was searching the internet for old friends. Rick was one of those people who always cheered me up when I was down. After college I would run in to him occasionally, and that always made my day.

I didn't know that Rick had passed until today and I am shocked and very saddened. I got to know Rick when we played basketball together in a Naperville men's league. We both loved to talk and I remember many long conversations we had following our games. We talked about our families, work and of course sports. Although I only knew Rick for about 3 years, I am grateful to have gotten the chance to know him. My prayers go out to the Jeffers family.

I graduated with Rick and we joined Arthur Andersen & Co. together. He was one of the most memorable associates that I remember from the first years of life after college. Although, we all went our seperate ways, I was reminded on my recent 50th Birthday to think about friends I missed and now missed even more. My most sincere condolences to everyone that loved Rick through the years.

The irony of life... Only in recent months I have started to find old aquaintances through research on the internet. My first search for Rick returned this guest book... I went to school with Rick from Dubois all the way through SHS and to discover he lived so near was heartbreaking... My condolences to you and your family. You will be in my prayers. My condolences on the Rick's passing. I was out of town at the time and just heard tonight. I have always enjoyed his laugh and his smile. Dear Sue, You were my very first friend when we moved to Springfield in 1972. I've never forgotten how much that meant to me as the new kid on the block. Dear Sue and Jeffers family,
I am so sorry for your loss. When I heard the news, I went to the attic to find a photo album I knew contained pictures from 8th grade and SHS. I found the ones from the 8th grade trip to Washington D. C. Rick is in several of them along with Joyce Gulley, Dave Ehrhardt, Linda Conn, Rick Bartucci, Amy Lisenbee, and Mark Gabehart. Seeing them brought back great memories. I can still hear Rick's laugh. He was smart, a great athelete, and a really nice guy. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with your family. As a hospice nurse, I deal with losses daily, but it really "hits" when the loss hits so closely, to those you have known and went to school with. I just heard the news about Rick and its difficult to image him being gone but I know he would

Dear Sue and family,
From Amy Lisenbee to my sister Gen, to me, I was very saddened to hear by email of Rick's passing. I remember in early middle school before Rick's glorious sports career practicing basketball with Rick next to the fire station (near Grant Middle School). Even though we haven't seen each other much since graduation - you, Rick, your parents, your brother and sister have often been in my thoughts. You were an integral part of my middle and high school years.
When you and Rick married, it seemed natural. Like you, Rick had the gift! His infectious positive spirit put everyone at ease. How could anyone not smile and feel good when in the presence of his sparkle and wit. I am sure your children model those same exemplary qualities.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of Rick. I went to school with him all the way through grade school, junior and high school. He was around during my entire childhood and was one of the nicest and most respectful people I have ever known. You were very lucky to have had him as your husband. Preserve your memories.

The Jeffers Family,
I was so sad when I heard about Rick's passing this morning. He was my boss at E & Y and we had kept in touch over the years. He always spoke so fondly of his family and was an example to a young set of recruiters of the importance of family. I am so sorry to hear about Rick's death. I knew Rick as a small boy in Springfield. Sue and I played bridge together and each had three boys about the same age. Rick will be missed so much but I know that he will have the best seat in the house up in heaven watching over all of us. He was just a great guy that loved sports. He loved talking about soccer,baseball, and football. I have many fond memories of Rick sitting in the stands watching all the soccer games and always being the sideline coach. We shared many laughs together and he loved watching his kids play sports. To Blake, Kara, and Katelyn your Dad was a great father and he loved you very much and he will always be watching over you.

Jeffers Family-
I worked for Rick at Andersen in the early 90's. Rick was a kind-hearted friend and manager. He had such love and pride for his family; he was always talking about the kids and going off to soccer practice. I'm so saddened by the passing of such a wonderful individual and loving family man.
