Luczak Family,
Rick and I worked together for a few years, and it was always an experience. Ever the deep thinker, Rick opened my eyes to some issues that had I had never considered, and encouraged me to look at things from a different perspective. He was a great guy to work with, and his loss has affected me deeply. May your family find peace in the memories that Rick's life has provided you with. He will forever be in my memory.

To Rick's Family and Friends,
What a sad day.We will all miss Rick, as he was a fine fellow and a great guy.
I met Rick when he became a member of the Springfield Celts Rugby Football Club.
Rick was a good teammate, and took to the game well. He was always fun to be with during and after the match ,and an all around nice guy.
On behalf of the Celts; we all shall miss Rick and have great memories on and off the Pitch.

It is so nice and comforting to know my younger brother touched the lives of so many people. On behalf of my parents, my sister, and other brothers, I would like to say THANK YOU to EVERYONE who touched us in whatever way: personal visit, food, cards, gifts, calls. It was so thoughtful of you.

I was fortunate enough to experience life with Rick in his younger yrs. We played basketball against each other in HS. Then found each other again in college. We were roommates, friends, and teammates are a Rugby club. I recieved an email with the news and stopped to recall all the memories from that time in our lifes. One I hold dear is the time Rick invited me to your home for Christmas as I had to spend it away from my family. Your family welcomed me with open arms and surprised me with a couple of gifts. God's blessings and grace in your time of sorrow.

Rick and I used to climb through the Industrial Arts Classroom window to gain access to the gym to play basketball. Pure intent, for the love of the game. I'm not sure why he got so much better and I didn't. When we got tired we would talk for hours about our life goals. My deepest sympathies go out to the Luczak family.

I spent a lot of time talking to Rick at my coffee shop in Taylorville. He would spend hours on end there, and we had a lot of great conversations. He definitely brightened up my days there, and I looked forward to talking to him. He will be missed.

I have many memories of Rick and I, the one that stands out the most was a game of tennis that we played, and neither of us could beat the other. The game went on for hours until we were both so exhausted we just quit! Even as a young man I was soar for quite some time.
