I would just like to salute Mrs. Vertie Scott, as a worker in District 186, I watched Mrs. Scott raise many children from all walks of life. Mrs. Scott had a way with children that I would call a gift from God. Thank you for always being a phone call away. It was good to see a women live by the old rules of life" It takes a village to raise a child". I salute you for a job well done.

I am truly going to miss you "Priscilla" that was what I named you because you could never remember my name and called me "Angie". People used to look at us like that's not their names but it was our little joke. To God be the glory! He is getting a fun and energetic woman in heaven!
Love you Dtr. Kim Wilson aka "Angie"

Hi my name is Joe Lomprez (joey).I use to live across the street from her family about 42 years ago. i remember her youngun nickname of Granny. Vertie use to call my dad(Frank) longhead as way to aggravate him about our last name it was hillarious. She acted like and treated me & my siblings like her own. After we moved away I visited her a couple of times in my late teenage years & she still treated me like her own. A couple or so decades later when I transferred to dayshift at my current job, low and behold there was Vertie working at the same place(S.O.S. OF ILLINOIS).When She saw me she reconized me and proceeded to tell everyone that I was her son, gave me a big ole hug & kiss on the cheek. I was so happy to see her after all the years that had passed. Vertie has always treated me like her own child thats how she was. My parents loved her, she was hard not to love. She cared for so many. I will miss her. Back to that day in the office You should of just seen the jaws drop a on most of my fellow employees. I guess it was because Vertie just didn't care that I was white. IT JUST MADE MY DAY...... LOVE YA VERTIE YOU WILL BE MISSED TELL MY MOMMA & DADDY HI
