Buddy Partridge Obituary
Bow - Buddy Fritz Partridge, Jr went to Heaven on 8/16/2021.
He was Surrounded by a lot of Love, Great Stories, Classic Rock (his favorite), Eagles Flying By a ton of Gratitude & Prayers...it was the best it could be under the circumstances (minus way too many missed goodbye's).
Buddy was born on November 27, 1946 in Maywood, CA. He lived an incredible childhood with his parents who loved him dearly. His Father Buddy (Fritz Partridge, Sr) was in World War II & contracted all over the world with the US Navy after his Service. His Mother Helen (Louise Partridge) was an absolute delight, dancing with troops well into her 80's. She called him Buddy Boy. Buddy always said he got the best of Our Nation's History.. the good times, sock hop simplicity, riding bikes to the beach to surf, hanging out with his cousins & sneaking into the Cinnamon Cinder (as a minor) to dance, and forever enjoying the warm Southern California days. He also had an older Sister, Priscilla Partridge de Garcia who had a large awesome family that loved Buddy very much, they called him Uncle Buggy.
Buddy was drafted during the Vietnam War in 1966 and was stationed in Germany. His job was working directly under the Commander in Chief 'On Air' distributing the daily news, stats, notices & announcements, kinda like Radar from Mash. His 1st wife Francis (Fran) accompanied him in Germany & they had some of his most memorable times, they lived on 'The Economy'. Fran was a Model, Actress & Boutique Clothing Store Owner in Manhattan Beach carrying on the Southern CA connection, keeping the Partridge name until just a couple of years ago...they were friends until she passed away in April 2021, he was heartbroken & loved her dearly.
Bud's Lineman Career started in Compton, CA. He loved the high life, climbing poles, bringing power to the people & showing up in storms as a true first responder. When his family moved to WA he worked for Puget Power past the March 2002 merger with Potelco. This career allowed for life long friendships & weathering the storms, they were like family. He wrapped up his career in Seattle as a Foreman, tearing down the viaduct, undergrounding all of the cable for this massive project, kept the lineman to code, brought 115k volt overhead lines to underground & helped shape the current Seattle skyline. There were not many poles in north western WA that you could drive by that Buddy didn't have a story working on. He always said he was highest paid grunt ever, forever ahead of the game & handing you the tool you needed next.
Buddy was survived by his second wife Carrie Mack (Niemi), Chris & Amber's Mother. They met in 1974 & were a Beautiful Family Unit, starting in Southern CA, moving to WA in 1980. They were incredible parents together & remained very good friends after their divorce and all the way up until the day Buddy passed. They were even roommates at one point due to some unique circumstances & always kept such great attitudes with each other, even with their own spouses in the distance. They were a true example of how to be mature adults after a divorce, always for the kids, this was a gift.
Buddy was also survived by his wife of 27+ years, Kathryn (Kathy) C. Partridge, she loves him very much. Unfortunately they were separated when he passed but they spent many, many good years together. Bud was never the same after the Brain Trauma & Kathy's Challenges with her Leg Amputation. They laughed, played, traveled & had a pretty cool dachshund named Freddy. They loved their fishing & seafood trips. Kathy has a son Tim, that Buddy was a fantastic Step-Father too. Tim's Family is his Wife Sanita & their Daughter Sarai.
Buddy was survived by his Son, Christopher Partridge & his wife Dawn Rochelle (Shelly), their girls, his Granddaughters, whom he was SO PROUD of, Riley & Heather. Buddy & his Son were basically best friends. He taught his son how to Survive, Ride Dirt Bikes, Fish, Hunt, Camp & to thoroughly enjoy the great outdoors. They spent countless incredible memories & Chris cherished his Father. Shelly is Bud's favorite 'Renton Girl' & they had a relationship that was full of trust, laughs, friendship & so much Father/Daughter-In-Law Love. Bud's Granddaughters were the Light of his Life. Riley is in the US Navy & he could not be more Proud of Her. Buddy took Riley on a train across the US from WA State to Washington DC to introduce her to her New Boss before she started boot camp, it was an unforgettable trip. They were super close. Heather & her Papa Buddy were very tight, sharing private jokes, inside secrets & matching Old Souls. She was an instrumental part of his recovery after his Brain Trauma, they got to be roommates & she loves him dearly. His Granddaughters each have owl tattoos in honor of their Papa, as he loved owls and collected them, they are pondering adding a hang loose too, that was their version of waiving while saying "shocka". Apparently he & his Grandpa did this too.
Buddy was also survived by his Daughter Amber Louise Soria & Son In-Law Daniel-Son (Bud's name for Danny) Soria, his very dear friend. Amber is an Official Daddy's Girl & Proud Of It! She also feels like she had the best childhood ever due to growing up with this amazing guy, he was over the top incredible at Holidays, Birthdays & Everything he did. He taught her to wake up happy everyday, maintain her dirt bike, change her own oil, survive in the woods, camp, fish, shoot guns, play hard & everything a Daddy should teach his little girl. She was so blessed to have him as a Father. They traveled the planet together, had some of her most incredible memories in life & was able to assist in his Natural Cancer Fighting Journey in his last years here. Thankfully there was a recent 4 Months on Maui that Amber & her Father got to experience together, it was magic. His Son-In-Law Danny got to get in on Maui too & they were really good friends, he was a Father to Danny & they had an incredible relationship. His grand dog Otis was really his best friend (says Otis), classic chocolate lab & grandpa style love, Otis was at his side with every step.
He will be missed so much by his Cousins, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces, Brother/Sister In (Out:) Laws, Friends, Family Noted, his Union Brothers & Sisters & everyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with this incredible human.
Buddy was fighting Brain Cancer after having Thyroid Cancer that metastasized into his Brain. Unfortunately this led to multiple failed surgeries, gamma knife radiation procedure with major complications that lead to an emergency craniotomy & Brain Trauma. Buddy kept the Cancer at Bay, Naturally without Surgery or Radiation, for about a year with much Dedication & Belief in his Health. In the end, his last days, he was living in some brand new fresh digs by himself, fell & fractured his hip, went into the Hospital & came out well on his way down the hospice path of Comfort Care until he passed. He was surrounded by his Nephew, Jesse Mack whom he had an incredible relationship with & his Daughter, Son-In Law & Grand Dog at their Home in Bow, WA.
Buddy lived every minute as if it was a gift, & to enjoy it ALL. Family, Life, Work, Friends were Bud's #1 & he would do anything for you, he was an absolute gem of a human & everyone who crossed his path remembers him. He would always look you in the eyes, he'd bring the light & the funnest guy to have at your Party. If you met him you would gravitate toward him, his energy was infectious, full of laughter & entertaining. He was Skillful, Engineer Minded, Smart, Incredible at Drafting, had a Killer Imagination & was Full of Dreams & Inventions. He was also a Very Proud American & LOVED His Country.
