Kevin Kondas Obituary
A proud graduate of Cleveland St. Joseph High School, Class of 1967, Kevin went on to earn a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from Cleveland State University. He later received a master's degree in advanced Materials and Mechanics from George Washington University and completed a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Missouri, where he was honored to serve as a White House Fellow under the U.S. Secretary of the Navy.
Throughout his distinguished career, Kevin held key roles within the U.S. Navy Ship Engineering and Marine Systems Command and the U.S. Intelligence Agency. He also served as a member of the National Security Council and the White House Presidential Foreign Intelligence Advisory Council. Later in life, he shared his expertise as a consultant for several private firms.
In June 1971, Kevin married Lois, with whom he shared a deep and lasting partnership. Together, they enjoyed the companionship of many beloved Boxer dogs and found great joy in fine food, good wine, cruising, and travel.
He is predeceased by his wife, Lois E. Kondas (née Flavin); his father, Richard C. Kondas; and his mother, Lillian L. Kondas (née Gibbons). Kevin leaves behind his beloved partner and companion of five years, Susan Madjar; his brothers, Dale R. Kondas and Richard W. Kondas (Lori); his nieces, Kathy (Ray Turk), Sara Booher (Adam), Erica Toy (Jeff), Brandon Park (Allison); and his grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross or the Boxer Rescue League at www.va-boxerrescue.org in Kevin's name.
