Pamela Freeman Obituary
She was born on July 25, 1931 in Wimbledon, England to the late Stanley Wiltshire and Beatrice Payne. Pamela earned an education degree and taught at several United Kingdom elementary schools in England, Aden, and finally Bermuda where she met and married Harold "Dean" Freeman, an U.S. Navy serviceman, on December 24, 1960. They spent 48 years together before his passing on May 6, 2009. In 1967, they settled in St. Mary's County, raised a family and became active members of First Saints Community Church in Leonardtown. Through the decades she was a member of the adult choir and for a time led the children's "Blue Angel" choir. Outside of church she volunteered at the Historic Sotterley Plantation and local Christmas in April projects. She loved her view of the Patuxent River, the grandeur of God's creation in her gardens and the visiting wildlife, and cherished any time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Pamela is survived by her children, Scott N. Freeman (Amy) of Leonardtown, MD, Elizabeth A. Freeman "Liz" of Savannah, GA, Rachel L. Dickinson (Gary) of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Rebecca Russell, David Freeman, Angelica Freeman, Hannah Hornsby, Abigail Dickinson; great grandchildren Harper Russell, Amelia Freeman, Alice Russell, Asher Hornsby, Madison Freeman.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at First Saints Community Church, St. Paul's Campus, 25550 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650; the family will receive friends at 11 am, the service is at 12 pm and will be led by Pastor Chris Owens. Interment will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
