David FELTMAN Obituary

David W. Feltman, loving husband, father, grandfather and a true friend who was known for his intelligence, quick wit and razor-sharp memory, passed away on August 30, 2017. He would have celebrated his 75th birthday next month.
David was the son of Harold and Dorothy Feltman, born in Elgin, IL on October 17, 1942. His early years were spent in Woodstock, IL, until the family moved to Elmhurst, IL where David attended Willowbrook High School and then graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, IA.
David served his country in the U.S. Army, with two tours in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, David started a lengthy career in the equipment finance industry in the Chicago area working many years for AAR Corp. In 1979, David moved to the Bay Area where he worked for some of the leading companies in the industry, including Security Pacific Leasing, Bank of America Leasing and then Heller Financial in Chicago. At the time of his death, David was employed by U.S. Bank Equipment Finance.
David is survived by his best friend and devoted wife, Valerie, his daughter, Jessica Potts, his granddaughter, Cadence, as well as his step-daughter, Cara Gerard (Rob), and step-grandchildren, Chloe and Kellan.
David was an avid car guy who owned many classic cars over the years. David leaves behind a legacy of wisdom accumulated over a lifetime and inspiration for leading a life well-lived that those who knew him can truly appreciate – many who were lifelong friends from his childhood.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Sonoma Valley Hospital's Emergency Room staff for all their efforts on David's behalf.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Pets Lifeline of Sonoma, CA to honor David's love of animals, including those that he shared his life with, namely Mackie, T.J., Cody & Stanley -- all his four-legged buddies – would be appreciated. A Celebration of David's life to follow.

In 53 years you never forgot my birthday. I know I'll be waiting for the phone to ring on the next one, and it won't come. That stinks! My deepest sympathy goes out to the family I know he loved so much. You had a terrific guy.
