Daniel Gamble Obituary
SOUTH BEND - Daniel R. Gamble, 70, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Dan was born on September 5, 1941, in South Bend, at his parents' home in Gilmer Park, to Kenneth and Dorothy (Edmondson) Gamble; both parents survive Dan. On January 9, 1971, Dan married the former Cindy Lisenko at the Harris Prairie Church of Christ in Granger. Dan and Cindy shared 40 years of marriage together. Dan is survived by his wife, Cindy, and their three children, Shannon (Rod) Anders of Lakeville, IN, Angie (Chuck) Waters of South Bend, IN, and Troy Gamble of South Bend. Dan was a loving and caring papa to three grandchildren, Jake and Kelsey Anders, and Jenna Waters. Five sisters, Sharon (Joe) Fodrocy of Granger, Pat Fodrocy of Standish, ME, Nancy Weaver of South Bend, Mary (Dick) McDonough of Mishawaka and Vickie Carpenter of Indianapolis, IN, are also surviving. A brother-in-law, Jim Fodrocy, Pat's husband, preceded Dan in death. Dan served his country in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge on June 18, 1965. Dan retired as a Boiler Engineer from the University of Notre Dame after many years of service. Dan was a member of the Lakeville Conservation Club in Lakeville. He enjoyed fishing, bowling at the Turners of Michiana Bowling League, and playing music. Riding his motorcycle for both pleasure and the MDA benefit rides. Dan was a man who would help anybody; he was the family mechanic who loved working on cars. Dan was a proud papa who attended his grandchildren's sporting events; he was their #1 fan. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at 1:00 pm, with visitation from 10:00 am until service time, with Pastor Brian White officiating at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy., Suite 210, Mishawaka, IN 46545-1440.

RIP Dan. You will be missed. I enjoyed talking to you at Strikes and Spares while you bowled in the Turners league. Your whole team was my "grandpa team" to my daughter.
