SOUTH BEND - Judith Ann Shreve, 73, of South Bend, IN passed away at 2:27 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 with her family by her side, in the home of her daughter. She was born on June 25, 1942 in Janesville, WI to the late George and Mabel (Odegard) Peterson. On May 7, 1988 in Osceola, IN, she married Connie Shreve, who survives.

Mrs. Shreve is also survived by her children, Drinda Bokhart of South Bend, IN, Thomas B. Tekker, Jr. of Mishawaka, IN, Jody (Pat) Torma of Osceola, IN, Michele (Troy) Orban, Sr. of South Bend, IN, Rachele Benn of Elkhart, IN, Jeff (Linda) Shreve of Elkhart, IN, Tim Shreve of Cassopolis, MI, Larry (Kim) Shreve of Mishawaka, IN, Scott (Roxanne) Shreve of North Liberty, IN, Rhonda Thompson, Lois Yanez, Faron Atkins and Yvonne Hall, all of Plymouth, IN and Larry (Cathy) Atkins of South Dakota and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, who she loved so dearly. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra (Denny) Yost of Fishers, IN and two brothers, Gerald (Elise) Lindmark and Dean (Marilyn) Mohring, both of IL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel and Oscar “Swede” Olson, her father, George Peterson and her husband, Adron Atkins.

Judy lived most of her life in Mishawaka and South Bend. She attended Christian Center Church, where she felt the presence of her Lord. Judy lived a life that exemplified the fruits of the spirit especially, love, kindness, and gentleness to all of whom she came in contact with. She was a sincere and compassionate prayer warrior at all times, who never wavered in her faith and her faithfulness led many to the Lord, including her husband Connie, in her final hours. She was a selfless woman who focused on the spiritual and physical well-being of others first and never complained when enduring the challenges of her own physical health. Judy was clothed in strength, shared wisdom with Godly instruction, and did so with her gentle and kind spirit. Her children and spiritual children all rise up to call her blessed. Many lives have been forever changed because of her unwavering faithfulness. She will be greatly missed, more than words can ever express.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. March 14, 2016 at Christian Center Church, 530 E. Ireland Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and caregivers, Carla C. and Wendy for their heartfelt care and compassion.
