Noah Laidig Obituary

Dec. 14, 1994 - May 2, 2011
MISHAWAKA - Noah Thomas Laidig, 16, of Mishawaka, passed away unexpectedly in his residence on Monday. Noah was a student at Penn High School just finishing his sophomore year. He played the guitar and loved his country and was considering enlisting in the college U.S. Army ROTC after graduation. He was a member of the South Bend Rangers Skeet Shooting team. He was just loved by everyone and will never be forgotten. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Monica (Steve Largent) Laidig of Mishawaka; his father, Del D. Laidig of Elkhart; his sister, Ava Laidig, age 12, of Mishawaka; two brothers, Brad Largent, age 17, and Ben Largent, age 15, both of Mishawaka; his maternal grandparents, Thomas J. and Sarah A. Mueller of South Bend; and paternal grandparents, Dwight and Sandra Laidig of Plymouth, IN. Other survivors include his aunts and uncles, Mark and Elizabeth Mueller of Chandler, AZ, Annmarie and Eric Baumgartner of Lima, OH, Matthew and Diane Mueller of Washington, DC, James Mueller of Washington, DC, Matt and Beth Laidig of Mishawaka, the late Bart (Angela and Doug Watts) Laidig of Lakeville, and Shelley and Anthony Johnson of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by many cousins, Megan, Luke, Emma, David, John, Ashley, Brittany, Tiffany, Tyler, Sarah, Brad, Luke, Taylor, Kylie, Gabe, Sierra and Elijah. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the McGann Hay Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Road) where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with Rev. James B. Lewis, O.Carm, celebrating, and Rev. Jeff Largent, concelebrating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame. Rather than sending flowers, the family wishes that memorial donations be made to one of Noah's favorite causes: The St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 N. Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Memories may be shared, condolences sent to the family and directions found at www.McGannHay.com.

Dear Laidig Family:
I convey to you all my deepest condolences. Noah's become such an integral part of our extended family and a best friend to Austin. He always put a smile on my face when the boys played together. I was astounded by his unwavering conviction in terms of his life, political, and religious beliefs. Even more impressive and beautiful was the utmost respect Noah expressed toward my aunt, uncle, and seemingly every person with whom I saw him interact. Your family is in my prayers.

Dear Monica, Ava & family,
Our deepest sympathies to all of you. I recall always feeling like Noah was just the kind of young man a mother would want her daughter to be in the presence of. What an adorably sweet, bright kid! Gracie especially grieves for you, Ava, and hugs her own brother a little tighter tonight. May your faith wrap it's comforting arms around you all and hold you always.
Our Prayers,
Vicki,Steve, Gracie & Christian Geschke

Dear Laidig Family,
Words cannot express how devestated we were to hear of Noah's passing. Although Austin just met him, they became friends and I had become accustom to seeing his smile on the range. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. Please know that I and all of the Rangers are here if you need absolutely anything.
