KOONTZ LAKE - Valanda Sue Miller, 71, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at her home.
Valanda was born March 23, 1945, in Angola, IN, to James and Margaret (Birchfield) Wireman, and lived in the area for 25 years. She was a homemaker.
In June of 1996, she was married to Rodney W. Miller, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kyle Soltis of Koontz Lake and Brian (Melissa) Soltis of North Judson; one daughter, Pamela (Michael) James of LaPorte; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Audrey Neelis of Albion, MI, Beverly Cornell of Parma, MI, and Shirley Calhoun of Wasilla, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, James Wireman.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Central Time) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Cremation will follow.

During the 47 years I have know Bev, she has shared many memories and stories about her family which often made me feel like part of the family even though I had never met Valanda. I know she will be sadly missed by all. When words become meaningless, please know, you are in my prayers and ever so close to my heart.
