Stacie George Obituary

Stacie Piercy George LUBBOCK-Stacie Piercy George, 55, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, after a five-year battle with spinal cancer. A Mass of Resurrection celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Christ the King Cathedral with Father Bill Anton as celebrant. Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Christ the King Cathedral, followed by a visitation at 7:30 p.m. Stacie was born in Lubbock to Jackie and B.H. Bill Piercy. She attended Christ the King Cathedral School and received her degree in marketing from Texas Tech University in 1981. She married David George on Nov. 21, 1981, in Lubbock. She had a 32-year career at Southwestern Bell/SBC/AT&T, beginning in 1981. Stacie was a two-time breast cancer survivor who was committed to helping others fighting the disease. She served on the board of the Lubbock Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and was the co-chair of the 2008 Race for the Cure. She was a Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee Member. She also received the Christ the King Distinguished Alumni Award in 2010 and the YWCA Woman of Excellence Award in 2009. Above all, Stacie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and thoughtful friend. She was most proud of her marriage to David and their two children. She inspired those who knew her with her fighting spirit and unfailing optimism. She will be missed by all of those who were blessed to have her in their lives. She is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Meghan Hausler and husband Alex of Dallas; her son, Tyler George of Lubbock; her two brothers, Mark Piercy and wife Jonnette, and Scott Piercy and wife Jane, all of Lubbock; and her sister, Blair Adams and husband Robert of Dallas. i knew stacie,s family and they are all strong people, with Big Loving hearts. i would see stacie at 5:30 mass on saturday evenings and will miss seeing her there. I pray for all of you and Stacie. She was at C.T.K with all our children. Blessings to all of you.
