Aileen B. Antonangeli

Aileen B. (Smith) Antonangeli, 87, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton and Falmouth, passed away peacefully, Aug. 12, 2011, at her home. She was the beloved wife of John J. Antonangeli Sr. Aileen was born July 2, 1924, in Boston to Walter and Teresa (Morgan) Smith. She married John J. Antonangeli Nov. 29, 1942, in Rockland, at Holy Family Church. She lived in Brockton for 20 years, moved to Cape Cod for 23 years and had resided in East Bridgewater for the last three years. Aileen enjoyed gardening, bingo, playing cards and most of all being with her family, and had also been a member of the Hibernians Irish Club in Rockland. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children, Marie McGinn and her husband Ronald of Brockton, John J. Antonangeli Jr. and his wife Leslie of Manomet Beach, Teresa Mann of East Bridgewater and Dominic Antonangeli of East Bridgewater; nine grandchildren, Carol, Ronald Jr., Colleen, Paul, Evan, Jade, Dominic Jr., Francesca and Isabella; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan and Cameron; a brother, Alwyn Smith of Rockland; and her longtime friend, Pat. Following cremation, a memorial gathering will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Thursday 3-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
