Robert Grahn Obituary

Robert Millet Grahn, age 88, died on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. He was the son of the late Alton and Lillian (Easton) Grahn. Robert was born in Brockton on January 31, 1924 and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1941 and Northeastern University, Class of 1952. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Force. Robert was employed as a mechanical engineer for the Foxboro Company for over thirty years until his retirement. He has been a Foxborough resident since 1954. He married his late wife Grace (Mills) on July 31, 1948 in S. Walpole. Robert was a Trustee Director for the Foxborough Savings Bank, member of the Boyden Library planning committee, building committee and trustee. He was a past president and member of the Foxborough Historical Society and Past Master of the St. Albans Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Foxborough. He was also a member of Mystic Seaport, Sturbridge Village, AARP, the Pueblo (CO) Historical Aircraft Society, Friends of the US Air Force Museum and International B-24 Liberator Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. Devoted father of Steven Grahn of Brockton and William Grahn and his wife Brenda of Attleboro. Grandfather of Jeffrey, Tim and Erik Grahn. Brother in law of Doris Grahn of Sharon. Also survived by three great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours from 1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, January 20 at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxborough. Masonic Funeral Rites will be held during the calling hours at 2:30 PM. Funeral and interment services are private. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
