Vera Doucot Obituary

Vera (Tkachuk) Doucot, of Carver, passed away on November 6, 2014 at the age of 105. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Doucot Jr. Born in Poland on March 22, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Helen (Uschik) Tkachuk, and moved to the United States as a child. She was educated in Lawrence, Mass. and worked at Durgin Park in Boston for many years before becoming the proprietor of a restaurant supply company. She moved to Carver in 1982, after having previously resided in Boston. She was a member of the American Legion Post #40 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods. She loved playing poker, bingo, crocheting and knitting. Vera is survived by her sisters Sonia Ross of Stoughton and Lola Kelley of Swampscott. She also leaves her step children Charles Doucot III of Rowley, Arthur Doucot of Minnesota, and Louise Flanagan of Revere. She was the beloved aunt of Stephen Ross, Gary Ross, David Ross, Alan Ross, Paul Kelley and Anni Gudinas and was predeceased by her brothers Walter and Stephen Tkachuk and nephew Howard Kelley. Visitation will be held in the Cartmell Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Carver Council on Aging.
