Margaret "Maggie" Ellen Douçot (MacVicar) –
Methuen, MAMargaret "Maggie" Ellen Douçot (MacVicar), 63, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 6, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, physical therapist, and more to so many people.
Maggie was raised in Ashland, MA. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1979 and went on to earn her B.S. in Physical Therapy from University of Lowell in 1983, where she met her future husband Michael. They were married in 1986.
Maggie is survived by her husband Mike Douçot, daughter Renée Douçot, son Paul Douçot & husband Israel Hernandez, son Keith Marquis (Douçot) & husband Mike Marquis, sister Chris Meyer (MacVicar), nephews Dennis Meyer, Jeremy Meyer & husband Nick Gilham, Corey Meyer, brother Bruce MacVicar & wife Marlene MacVicar, parents-in-law Bob Douçot and Barbara Douçot (Champy), sister-in-law Suzanne Teichert (Douçot) & husband Eric Teichert, nephews Kristian Teichert & spouse Michelle Teichert (Soel) and Chandler Teichert, her two cats Harley & Scarlet, and countless more extended family members, friends and colleagues, by whom she was cherished dearly. Maggie's passing preceded the March 10th birth of her first granddaughter, Jacqueline Renée Marquis, for whom Maggie was so excited to become "Grammy" and is undoubtedly smiling down on from above. In Heaven she joins her parents Robert MacVicar and Freida MacVicar (Johnston), brother Alan MacVicar, and brother-in-law Dennis Meyer.
Maggie had many pastimes that she enjoyed, but most notably she loved spending summers at the family "camp" at Little Island Pond, homemade pizza nights, going to concerts and cover bands with Mike, attending Bruins games with the family, watching all Boston sports teams, and the family's Maine Coon cats.
Compassion was her superpower, and as a physical therapist of more than forty years, Maggie was loved and respected by her colleagues as much as her patients, for whom she was always a passionate advocate.
