To Bill's loved ones,
I wish to express to you my deepest sympathy regarding Bill's recent passing. Although he had a different relationship with each of you, I'm sure all of you find his loss to be painful. When my father passed our family lost our patriarch: the loving husband, the loving father, the treasured brother, the loving papa; I know he must have meant so much to each of you.
I hope it is of some solace that Bill is so fondly remembered by so many people – and that those people sympathize and empathize with your loss.

Our deepest and sincere sympathy to you and your family. I will never forget the time I was at the car wash here in Bonita getting my car washed and there was Bill. He and I got to talking about how we loved a good cup of coffee in the morning. I told him how much I love Dunkin Donut coffee and the next thing I know he was pulling out a $30.00 gift certificate from his wallet to none other than DunkinDonuts! He gave it to me and told me to enjoy my coffee. What a sweet and wonderful man. When he left this season he came up to me and said good bye, I'll be seeing you... You were blessed to have him as a part of your life. Love and peace to you all.

I would extend my sincere sympathy to you and your family. I hope your memories of his joys, his love of family and his jest for life will give you comfort in this difficult time. I first met “Sergeant Bill” 50 years ago as a freshman at Norwich. You could not help but like this young man with the infectious smile and twinkle in his eye. Even as he was chewing me out for not having my shoes shined, he would give me that smile. Every five years we would meet at a re-union and catch up on each others life. I know he is looking down on you and all of us with a smile and twinkle in his saying I am Ok. Goodbye and Rest in Peace Bill.
