Eleanor D. Costello-Abdou

Eleanor D. (Martin) Costello-Abdou, age 66, formerly of Weymouth, died peacefully, Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was born in Somerville, raised and educated in Hyde Park schools and had lived in Braintree for five years, previously living in Weymouth for many years. Eleanor was employed as a hairdresser. She enjoyed dancing, shopping and restaurant dining. Beloved wife of James J. Abdou, she was the devoted mother of Robin Wright of Quincy, Phyllis Silenzi of Halifax, and the late Desmond J. Desi Fitzgerald; stepmother of Liane Donaher of Tewksbury, Stacey Ann Campus of Andover, and James J. Abdou, Jr. of West Roxbury; loving grandmother of twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister of Philip Martin, Ronald Martin both of Natick, William Martin of West Roxbury and Gail Clements of Weymouth. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., Quincy, Saturday, August 10, at 2 p.m. Reverend Natalie C. Wimberly, former pastor, Weymouth United Methodist Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting prior to the service from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. At the request of the family, interment services will be private.
