George Happas Obituary

George N. Happas, 78 years of age, passed away at the home of his son, Stephen Happas, in Braintree, on Thursday, April 7, 2016. He was born in New York City, N.Y., and had been a longtime Braintree resident. He graduated from the New Brunswick, N.J., High School. He was a butcher for Nishans Market in Dorchester, a family owned business, and was a butcher at area restaurants. George was known for his devotion to his family he had a mechanical aptitude and enjoyed working on cars. He was the former husband of Anita S. (Narekian) (Happas) Harrington of Braintree. He was the devoted father of Susan H. Petrilli married to Michael of Braintree, Stephen G. Happas of Braintree, and Derek P. Happas married to Vincenza of Quincy. He was the loving grandfather of Anita, Kimberly, Mikaela, Kaylee, Lexi, Tianna, Jett, Rocco, and Savino. He is survived by his sister, Themis Caulfield of Somerville; and his brother, Louis Happas of Somerville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the close friend of Kenny Badminton of Braintree. He was the devoted son-in-law to the late Sooren Narekian. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Wednesday, April 13, from 4-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Thursday, April 14, at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be sent to the Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
