Harold O. Sampson Jr.

Harold O. Sampson Jr., 88, of Rockland died August 27, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family and cared for by the Hospice of the South Shore. He was born in Abington, son of the late Harold O. Sampson Sr. and Ethel (Hunter) Sampson and was raised and educated there. Mr. Sampson was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Bud had worked in the construction field for 40 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Rockland Post 1788 of the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Eunice H. (Rousseau) Sampson; his children, Paul Sampson and his wife Anita of Abington, Jeffrey Sampson and his wife Jeanne of Rockland and Ronald Sampson and his fiance Michele of Bridgewater. Also surviving is his sister, Barbara Pierce; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life Monday, August 31, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. The Rev. Kristy Coburn will officiate at a funeral service Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Holy Family Cemetery.
