Brian Wofford Obituary
DUNCAN, SC-- Mr. Brian O'Neal Wofford was born January 31, 1978, and he entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 18, 2012.
Mr. Wofford was a faithful member of the Harrison Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Mr. Wofford leaves to cherish loving memories: his loving wife, Dr. Boisha Wofford; his daughter, Little Miss Kaelyn Wofford; his mother, Ms. Janice Littlejohn of Moore, SC; his father, Mr. James (Patricia) Wofford, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Barbara McBeth of Moore, SC; two brothers Mr. James (Torlina) Wofford, Jr. of Enterprise, AL and Mr. Terrance Wofford of Spartanburg, SC; nephew, Master Kayleb Wofford; mother-in-law, Mrs. Cynthia (Harold) Hoey of Spartanburg, SC; father-in-law, Mr. Leonard Washington of Spartanburg, SC; his wife's maternal grandparents, Mrs. Minnie (George) Dendy and Mr. James Rowland all of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-law, Ms. Helen Hoey of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Evangel Cathedral, 500 Evangel Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The Reverend Dr. Leon Rector will officiate. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens.
The Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. will perform private final rites from 7:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel.
The family is at the home, 243 Holly Tree Circle, Duncan, SC, and the home of his mother, Ms. Janice Littlejohn of 343 Collin Rogers Drive, Moore, SC.

To My Brother:
Bro, I didn't want to start this off like some rap song, but the words are so fitting. It's hard with you not around, but I know you are in heaven smiling down.. I will not lie to you, this hurts more than anything I have ever gone through in my life. Losing you hurt me so so bad, but I wanted to stay strong for you because I know you would have done the same for me. I will never ever forget you, you are and will always be my brother, so I will not look at it like you are gone, but you just went away for awhile. I know you saw how strong Kaelyn was, you would have been so proud of her strengh, I even gained strength by seeing her. Keep a look out for your lil brother, he is taking it hard as well. But I know you got him. Mom is doing well as expected, she mising you like crazy. I know you are looking out for her too. I miss you bro but I know you are with the Father.. I thank God for letting us have the years we had together but I'm most thankful that I was able to spend the weekend with my two brothers when you guys came to Alabama to see me. I was telling Pooh that you got away with a win in Madden before you left but it's just like you to go out on top. I love you bro with all my heart and soul and thanks for being that person that I could look up to... it will forever be a Honor!!! Love you Bro, brothers for life!!!

To the Wofford family: I am so sorry to hear of Brian's passing. When I was a student teacher at Houston Elementary School, Brian was in my class; he was my favorite student all those years ago. I also had the opportunity to re-connect with Brian during his Clemson career, and I can truly say that he was a precious child and a wonderful young man. I had the privilege of teaching Brian at McCracken Jr. High! He was a wonderful young man during his time there and I followed him as he moved up to become a Viking and later as he played at Clemson! He made us all proud--his behavior, attitude, kindness, and his fun-loving personality will be missed. Please know that we are thinking of you all as you go through this difficult time! I grew up with Brian and his brother's on Ebel Court. Before we would catch bus 12 to school, we would go to Mama Kelly's house and eat some biscuits. Brian and I became good friends when he lived in Florence. Brian was an amazing friend that if you ever met him you could not help but love him. His smile was the brightest I have ever seen. Im still waiting on a call telling me this never happened or its the wrong Brian Wofford. Cant believe that i even have to read this article or sign this guest book. Almost 30 years ago, I met a young man who would soon become one of my best friends for many years to come. Through those years, his constant smile and jokes were guaranteed to brighten my day. His athletic ability on the playground would help me to look way above my means and abilities. My friendship with Brian began when I was in middle school at McCracken Junior High. As the years went by he became my best friend who I confided in often. Throughout high school and college he was a star athlete and that is what most people will remember him for. I will remember Brian for always accepting people from all walks of life. He was a fan of the underdog. I am convinced when God called him to heaven on Friday he had no enemies on earth. He strived for “perfection” in all aspects of his life.
Brian never met a stranger. However, his close circle of friends was very small. We use to call them “Da Fellas” in the halls of SHS. To Tee Sims, Kevin Coleman, Chris Cochran, Jarvis Davis and Marcus Richardson, I pray that you all will be strong and keep pushing forward. That is what Brian would want for all of you. Brian loved his family, and his circle of friends was like his family.
Last week I had the opportunity to talk with Brian twice, last time being Thursday night. I am so grateful he was able to be a part of my life for so many years. He was a special person, he was my best friend. When I read the comments others have written here and on other sites it further confirms my beliefs of him.
To his mother Janice and the Wofford family, you are in my prayers. Brian was a family man in every way. Most importantly the love he had for his daughter was paramount. I pray that Kaelyn knows she is and will always be the apple of his eye.
Words seem inadequate to express the pain many of us feel. The community is saddened by the loss of Brian at such a young age. He is an angel now watching us from heaven. I personally will cherish the memories I have of him in my heart forever.
Brian, I love you and my family adored you. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My deepest condolences and earnest prayers go up and out to Brother Wofford's wife, daughter and immediate family and closest personal friends. Words cannot express the comfort needed at this time, but the Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc do stand in the gap and lift up prayers of peace and comfort for the peace that surpasses all understanding to envelope and comfort all who feel this loss. Our Brother has ascended to the Chapter Invisible but leaves a legacy of fidelity that we can take with us to cherish.

Brian Wofford's smile said it all! I was so fortunate to get to know him thru the Florence County Parks and Recreation Department. He would come to Johnsonville to check on our youth sports program with that warm, friendly smile that summerized everything about the man. What a quality person with so much love for kids. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family for such a tragic loss. I know with all my heart, that radiant smile now shines in heaven as his body has become perfect, and he has made it to the place we all should long to be. I work for Public Safety and I didn't know Brian on a personal, but I remember always seeing him in City and at CC Woodson during different events that the City had there. He was always smiling and very pleasant to be around. My heart goes out to the family. May GOD wrap his arms so tighly around you and ease your pain at this difficult time. I work in the Parks & Recreation field and knew Brian very well, he was a rising star in the field and loved by everyone that knew him. This world is a much better place because of Brian and especially the Parks and Recreation community in SC. He was one of those people you instantly liked and wanted to be around and he will be greatly missed by many people in the profession and in Spartanburg. His football achievements were special, but his professional achievements were even more special. I am blessed by having known him for the last few years, as is everyone else that knew him.

I didn't know Brian personally but I would always see him in the hallways of Spartan High...smiling and joking around as usual. May his legacy live on and my prayers are with his family in their time of need. God Bless.

My prayers go out to the Wofford Family. God is still who he is in the mist of your loss. My prayer is that you will gain strength and allow Brian to live on in your hearts. I know he will always be in mine! What an amazing gift God shared!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Mostly to the little girl who lost her father way too soon. Brian was a rare individual. He could light up a room just by being present. He was a very close friend of mine and I miss him dearly. Let his memory live on in those who knew him. Rest in peace Brian. We all love you!

Words could not express the shock I felt when I heard the news of the accident. I am one who can that it was a "TRUE" Blessing to have met and known Brian. He met everyone with a smile no matter what the situation. As a member of The Kappa Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi of Clemson University, we will not let the legacy you leave behind go unnoticed. Your wife and daughter will be watched over by you and the Lord from Heaven and your brother's here on earth.
